THE CENTRAL PARK OF PRATO

DESIGN COMPETITION WITH PRESELECTION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN URBAN PARK

In 2016, the Municipality of Prato launched a design competition, with pre-selection, to create an urban park in the area of the former hospital to serve the community, with a function of relaxation, for taking walks, spending free time, and for eco-biological rebalancing of the city center.

The park should also have become a tourist attraction, that is, it should be configured as a new place capable of conveying the image of Prato as a contemporary city, contributing to the socio-economic development of the city center, with functions that could take place throughout the entire day.

Participation in the pre-selection was open to all those who met the admission requirements, who should have submitted a curriculum, accompanied by a dossier of their works.

For this competition, Studio Galanti participated together with Studio Voght, a German studio with over 20 years of experience in the field of architectural and urban planning.
